A supportive environment to help each other write, get feedback, encouragement, and improvement in any genre of writing. We are also planning on publication of work, whether through submissions to small magazines, or full-length books to commercial publishing houses. Anyone who has a real interest in writing may join.
This is a daytime group about writing, writing, writing. Finding time to write can be an issue, clearing an evening adds to the challenge. We'll write for 45 minutes and process the experience for 15 minutes. If this works well, we may add a critique or education component later. For now, this is just about sitting down and writing.
This is a place to share ideas and stories with other authors. It is open to writers of all experience and skill levels. We're looking for writers who want to help each other master the craft of writing and editing. Our emphasis is narrative (plot, pacing, character, description), which is most typically associated with prose writing (fiction and non-fiction)- but don't feel limited by labels. Writers who work in any style (drama, poetry, comic books) are also welcome in our group. Members shoul …

It's not you, it's me. . . It's not that I don't want to read your stuff -- I need to write my own first. This group is for writers who are Not looking to share their work or join a class, but who simply want to write. Get Out and Do It. Make it real. Just show up and do your thing. Polish that short story. Start a poem. Write a novel. Flash fiction. Blog. Start a screenplay. Freelance. Stay or leave whenever you want. . . Show up early or stay late to chat. See you there!
I decided to start the group because I need critical readings of my work. I have professional experience reading the fiction of others, and I feel confident about reading yours with a critical eye. I want to be with people who are willing to participate in a structured experience. We will email each other 1 to 2 pages--1,000 words limit--analyze these when we receive them, take our comments and address the writings in a circular manner at meetings--positive comments followed by suggestions--and …
This group is a "real world" extension of the organization I founded on-line called the Indie Book Collective. We are all about helping authors figure out their publication options then helping them succeed (i.e. actually sell their books) through social media, Amazon optimization, and other promotional events. Each weekly meet-up will be filled with discussion on the latest news from the publishing world and how it effects the market and our sales (or plan to sell). No matter if you are only ev …

Some of the best poetry I've written has happened either in a class or group of like minded poetry lovers. My hope is that we will meet and study poetry forms during our meetups, write on our own then come together to workshop the poems we've written and study the next form. I would very much like to have a diverse group of people and encourage anyone who loves poetry and desires to write to join us.

We're an autonomous collective of like-minded young (at heart) people who share a love of the arts and the creative process in general. I started this group because there are tons of us in this city, but for some reason, we all seem to be scattered or otherwise barred from connecting with one another in a meaningful way. So, I figured that even the littlest excuse can help bridge that gap.

Our first Meetup was on the 13th for Glenn Beck's first address to millions of those who thought they were alone in tsunami of progressive propaganda. GOALS FOR US: The goals are simple but require focus and dedication COMMUNICATE - We want to verbally and spiritually connect with others who are sick of the destructive prog …
